Past Theatre Interns

The Bridge House Theatre internship is a paid, fixed term internship which runs annually from September to July.

The post is designed to bridge the gap between training and the professional working environment, providing valuable experience and guidance to theatre professionals at the start of their career. Jessica Stevens | 2010 – 2011

Jessica’s wonderfully creative, organic design style has enchanted audiences for some time now. Whilst working at The Bridge House, her work on ‘The Insect Play’ was truly breathtaking and of the highest professional standard. Since leaving us Jessica has become a freelance theatre designer, working for various companies including Playbox Theatre.

Sarah Ware | 2009 – 2010

After leaving The Bridge House Sarah worked at Birmingham Rep for a year in their scenic construction department. She then joined the RSC‘s Technical Crew (Stratford’s Royal Shakespeare Theatre & Swan Theatre) and she has recently been invited to extend her contract.


Penelope Watson | 2008 – 2009

Penelope is an incredibly talented theatre designer and has gone on to design many productions since she left The Bridge House, stunning audiences and critics alike with her imaginative and beautiful work. Recently Penelope has worked closely with Custom Practice.
